Q + A

Are dogs allowed?

We're so bummed, but dogs are not allowed at the venue. We got special permission to allow our own dog to come and it was written into the contract

Are kids invited?

We adore all your children, but this is an adults only party

What is the alcohol policy?

The venue's policy is that alcohol may only be served by a licensed bartender. It would not be realistic for us to hire a bartender for the whole weekend, so we are saying Bring Your Own Beverages for Friday as well as Saturday night for the after-party. We will have a caterer with a bartender on site with a cash bar on Saturday 9/6 from 3:30 - 9:00pm. Please do not be seen consuming any alcohol not provided by the bar during this time. And for any alcohol you provide, please take your empties home with you and ensure that the cabins do not smell like booze when you depart. We really really appreciate your cooperation, but want to make sure everyone has an enjoyable time

What is there to do at the venue?

The 700 acre property offers miles of hiking trails, a swimming pond, ball fields, a basketball court, fields, tennis & pickleball courts, a labyrinth, and a fire pit. If you have a yard game (like corn hole) you'd like to bring - that would be very welcome!! Bring a towel & bathing suit to take advantage of the swimming pond on Friday or Saturday morning

What are the accomodations?

Common Ground has a limited amount of space for folks to stay over on site so only select guests from the wedding party and friends from out of state are invited to stay on site. There is a very small number of rooms to stay in the Eco Lodge (building with simple hotel style rooms that have electricity and private bathrooms) and there are ~20 cabins (bunk beds, no electricity, shared bath house with toilets, sinks & showers). If you're interested in staying nearby, there are hotel & AirBNB options in Hinesburg and Williston, VT. Additionally, there are several platforms for anyone who would like to pitch a tent - no charge to camp out, You may bring a camper and set it up in the parking lot - no hookups available - no charge to bring a camper.

What's the deal with the cabins?

Select guests are invited to stay in the cabins - the wedding party and close friends/family from out of state. Please contact Chels or Adam to send payment or with any questions if you received an invitation to stay in a cabin! Don't hesitate to reach out - we want to make sure your stay is comfortable and you have everything you need. If you are staying in a cabin, please be aware they include a dry place to sleep and beds. You will need to bring your own pillow, sheets/sleeping bag, blankets, battery powered lantern/lights, battery powered speaker for music, toiletries, towels, and any other glamping supplies. If you cannot provide your own bedding or camping, just let us know what you need and we'll hook you up! There is a nice bathhouse building next to the cabins with electricity to charge your phones & electronics, sinks with mirrors for getting ready, showers (both indoor & outdoor), and of course toilets. Any cabins that are not super close to the bathhouse have nearby out houses so no one is too far from a potty. If you book a cabin, you have the bed for both Friday & Saturday night. Please let us know if you're staying both nights as we are providing dinner Friday night. The cabins are rustic, but honestly very cute. We hope you embrace the campy vibe and enjoy the weekend adventure in the mountains with us!

What's the deal with the Eco Lodge?

There is a small lodge called the Eco Lodge that offers just a few hotel style rooms. Rooms are very basic, but provide a bed, private bathroom and electricity. If you received an invitation to stay in the Eco Lodge, please see Chels or Adam to confirm / pay for your room and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions! The Eco Lodge has a large common room with a sink / kitchenette and sitting area. The bridal party will take over this room to get ready on Saturday morning leading up to the ceremony

What are you going to do if it rains?

No worries! Think sunny thoughts, because we would really like to have a beautiful ceremony in the large field, but if the weather doesn't cooperate, there is a barn on the property where we can move the ceremony inside. The reception will take place indoors in the dining hall rain or shine. People staying in the cabins or Eco Lodge will have water tight accommodations and dry beds :-)

Is there a security deposit?

Yes - Chels & Adam are paying a security deposit that we would really like to get back. Please don't damage the property, spill food or alcohol inside, smoke inside, or litter. We will additionally be charged $5 for any cigarette butt found on the ground. The property is a kids summer camp so they don't want any of the buildings smelling like booze haha
